In January, 2009, Feathered Friends Sanctuary & Rescue installed three colony
cages to house some of our cockatoos. Cockatoos are colony animals
and extremely social by nature. In the wild, cockatoos always
live in flocks and are always with other cockatoos. By providing
colony cages, we hope to minimize stress for our cockatoo residents
and to keep them as happy as possible.
