Lovebirds and Parrotlets
Lovebirds are from Africa and were named because they form very strong monogamous bonds and spend long periods of time just sitting next to each other. They are generally very affectionate birds who love to cuddle, but they do still need lots of time and patience from their human companions. If you're interested in lovebirds, come to the sanctuary on a weekday. We have our own lovebird expert (you can sometimes recognize him by the lovebirds in his pockets), and he can help you find the perfect feathered companion.
Parrotlets are feisty little parrots who sometimes forget their size. They are very energetic, fun birds who have all the personality of a large parrot in a very compact body. Parrotlets can often entertain themselves if provided adequate toys, but they can also be very cuddly birds. They love to get into trouble, but they just as easily get out of it with their charm and cute antics.
