We're always in need of people who can lend their time, energy, and talents to help keep our sanctuary running. If you're interested in volunteering, fill out our volunteer application (Word or PDF) and come to the sanctuary to talk with us more about it.

In-Shelter Care of Birds

We're always in need of volunteers to help care for the birds at the sanctuary. This includes cleaning cages, preparing food, bathing, feeding, watering, and socializing the birds. You can help make the birds' stay more enjoyable and help prepare them for their new homes! This is also your opportunity to work directly with Fine Feathered Friends customers on a one-on-one basis. You will help the adoption assistants by answering questions about the birds, introducing potential adopters to different birds, helping to match potential adopters to the most appropriate bird for their situation, and making everyone's visit to the sanctuary a pleasant experience.

Humane Education

One way to greatly reduce bird overpopulation is by educating children. With this program you will go into classrooms to help Fine Feathered Friends staff members teach the children about responsible care of animals and pet ownership.

Adoption Outreach

Fine Feathered Friends occasionally has birds available for adoption at various off-site locations. As an adoption outreach volunteer you will spend time educating the public about our sanctuary (its policies and procedures) and answering questions about the available birds.

Special Events

Fine Feathered Friends attends a number of special events and fundraisers throughout the year. While working at an event you may set up Fine Feathered Friends' area, run an information booth, answer questions about the sanctuary, and much more.
