In Loving memory

This page is dedicated to those that have lost their loving pets and have donated to Fine Feathered Friends Sanctuary, Inc. in their memory

Memorial from Charly and Don Rice. Bill is very much missed for his clown antics, like stealing yogurt by the entire container, entire fish filets, whole salsa chips, and anythings not weighing more than he did. And each day we pass that neightbor's pine tree my heart crys for dear Bill.
This is Elvis. He is an 8 month old 1/2 Angora 1/2 Fainting Goat. Elvis was brought into the vet suffering from pneumonia that he was born with and nothing was done to help him. He was going to be euthanized but I agreed to pay for his care. The doctors were wonderful and agreed to help me treat him. Elvis fought very hard to live and for six weeks we had the pleasure of loving and caring for him. He was a very special little guy and we will never forget him. Though his time with us was very short he stole our hearts and will be missed very much.

Princess Snow White, Albino Budgie 1 1/2yrs old. Princess Snow White was a very sweet little girl. She was surrendered with one eye swollen. She was treated for infection and once that cleared up the Avian Opthomologists at the UW discovered it was a cancerous tumor, the cancer had spread thru her body and she was in great pain. Her foster mom had a horrible decision to make but she was very brave and Princess Snow White is flying free over the rainbow bridge with all the other sweet birds that have gone before her. We will miss you Princess Snow White.

Maui was 2 years old. He was loved by all who met him. He would go to anyone and
immediately climb to their shoulder and snuggle into their neck. He had such a big loving personality in such a little body. He was loved very much by many people in a very short 2 years. We all will miss him very much. Maui had a terrible accident and fought so hard to come home to his family Sue and Mike Fly free Maui.

Merlin was a 12 year old Military Macaw who was with us for nearly a year before he went to his forever home. Known to many as Merl, he was loved by all even though he was a bit of a crumudgin. We could sit for hours and watch him do his birdie yoga, wondering if he was truly double jointed. Merlin, you will be greatly missed! Read Sue Griffin's personal goodbye.

Claude Leroy recently passed away. Claude was a huge supporter of Fine Feathered Friends Sanctuary and a true Bird Lover. Claude had a way of making everyone smile, or chuckle and we miss him already. Thank you Claude, for everything and we hope you have lots of birdies around you now.
Foster was a 6 year old Moustasched Parakeet. A delightful bird with plenty to say. He enjoyed children and adults alike and was a part of our nursing home and school programs. Foster was a very "Good Bird" as he was fond of telling anyone that would listen, and will be mourned and missed by all his friends at the sanctuary. He also was loved very dearly by his New Family, Kim & Mary Kay and we all are saddened by his loss. He brought so much joy into the lives of everyone that got to know him. Foster, we love & miss you so much. Hang in there Buddy, we will all be together again someday.

Petey was an 11 year old Nanday conure.  Petey's original owner left him in the apartment when she moved away and he was given to Pet World Warehouse to sell.  We had several complaints about the lack of care Petey was being given and upon visiting the pet store and seeing his plight for ourselves we brought him into the sanctuary, got him all checked out by the vet, gave him lots of baths and love and good food.  Petey was a wonderful bird and got the best home we could ever imagine.  He was very loved in his new home, had lots of toys, good food and out of cage time.  After a several months of living the good life, Petey passed away.  He will be missed by his family, all of his friends at the sanctuary and us.  Petey is flying free now with Peanut and Rosa and all the wonderful birds that went before him.

Peanut was surrendered to us recently, the same night we got him, he had a massive stroke and multiple seizures. We rushed him into emergency and he was put on antibiotics and anti-seizure medication. The next day he seemed to be doing better, the vet called & said his white blood count was off the charts and we needed to bring him back for more antibiotics. We took him back and got the medications. The following day he was much worse. Julie & I cuddled him and sang to him all afternoon. He died at 4:00. This was a needless death of a very sweet bird. He would be alive today if his former owner had taken him to a vet. Seizures in birds can be controlled with medication. Everyone at Feathered Friends are devastated by his loss.
