A Healthy Parrot Diet Shopping List Thoroughly wash all fruits and vegetables before serving them to your bird(s). Fresh foods are recommended over cooked, unless they are better accepted warm. Every bite of food counts! Make sure that every bite of food you give your bird is nutritious The

Collard green, Msustard greens, Turnip greens, Dandelion, Spinach, Broccoli, Cress, Kale, Beet greens, Chicory, Chard, Parsley, Alfalfa, Green peppers, Sweet potato, Carrots, Butternut squash, Hubbard squash, Chili peppers, Winter squash, Sweet red pepper, Acorn squash, Pumpkin, Persimmon, Mango, Cantaloupe, Apricot, Papaya, Raw plantain, Sour red cherry, Nectarine Other Vegetables and Fruits should comprise 15-20% of you bird's everyday diet Peas in a pod,
Bean sprouts, Cauliflower, Brussel sprouts, Zucchini, Green beans,
Asparagus, Beet, Potato, Tomato, Apples, Grapes, Banana, Quality Proteins should comprise 20% of you bird's everyday diet Lowfat yogurt, Low fat cheese, Tofu, Cottage cheese, Hard boiled egg, Cooked chicken, Fish & Turkey, Tuna in water, Various grains, Corn, Nuts, Cooked beans, Meal Worms insect larvae Whole Grains should comprise 15-20% of you bird's everyday diet Whole wheat bread, Grape Nuts, Unsweetened shredded wheat cereal, Amaranth, Quinoa, brown rice, Wild rice, Wheat germ Carbohydrates should comprise 10% of you bird's everyday diet Seed, Pasta, Bread, Potatoes, Rice, Couscous, Fruit Do not feed monkey, cat or dog food since it has been manufactured for mammals not birds. |
