Volunteers needed
We are always in desperate need of new volunteers because they make our job possible. We are always in need of more people who can lend their time, energy, and talents to keep our sanctuary operating. Volunteers must be eighteen (18) years old or older and:
- Able to commit to scheduled volunteer times
- Able to squat, bend, twist, lift, or stand for long periods when working directly with the birds
- Possess strong customer service skills as all volunteer positions work directly with the public, staff, and other volunteers

In-Shelter care of birds
When you care for the birds, you help to make their stay here more enjoyable.
In-shelter care includes, but is not limited to, cleaning cages, food
preparations, feeding, socializing and performing other duties to make
the birds happier and more appealing to adopters.
This is also your
opportunity to work directly with Fine Feathered Friends customers on
a one-on-one basis. You will help the adoption assistants by answering
questions about the birds; show a variety of birds to customers; help
match customers to the most appropriate bird for their specific situation;
and make the customers visit to the sanctuary a pleasant experience.

Humane Education
One way to greatly reduce bird overpopulation is by educating children. With this program you will go into classrooms to assist Fine Feathered Friends education staff members teach the children about responsible care of animals and pet ownership. Click here to fill out the volunteer application
Adoption Outreach
Some weekends Fine Feathered Friends has birds available for adoption at various off-site locations. As an adoption outreach volunteer you will spend time educating the public about our sanctuary (its policies and procedures), and answering questions about the available birds etc. Click here to fill out the volunteer application
Special Events
Fine Feathered Friends attend a number of special events and fund-raisers
throughout the year. While working at an event you may set up Fine Feathered
Friends area, staff an information booth, answer questions about the
sanctuary, and much more. Click here
