HELP A PARROT
Don't buy or breed,
adopt a bird in need!
We wanted to let everyone know that we’re still rescuing parrots, taking care of our flock and trying to match them to good homes. We are however, making a few temporary changes in light of the current public health situation.
The good thing is, we are already an Appointment Only Facility. And we rarely have more than 5-10 people at the sanctuary at any one time, especially during the week. That said, we are greatly reducing the appointments we schedule until at least May 26th. We do this to be cautious, and also because we have fewer volunteers than normal, as some have chosen to stay home due to health concerns.
If you would like a tour of the sanctuary, or would like to say hello or visit with the birds, we ask that you postpone your visit for a while. You can still call us as usual, and we will do our best to tentatively schedule your visit for the end of April or later.
If you are in the middle of our adoption process, you are welcome to keep your appointment and schedule more appointments as needed. Although we ask that you limit the number of family members that attend.
If you have an appointment scheduled, and you have even a slight cough, fever or are not feeling well, OR you have been around someone who has those symptoms, please stay home.
If you do come to the sanctuary, please use the hand sanitizer, respect personal space and know that our volunteers will be doing the same.
We anticipate a dip in our adoption numbers for a while, so if you would like to make a donation, we would certainly appreciate it.
Thank you very much for your support, understanding and cooperation. We will update you with any further changes to our schedule.
*We will not be doing a trim session until further notice
Birds of the Month
Frida and Lupe are our featured birds of the month! They are a bonded pair of animated white-winged parakeets who must be adopted together. They would do best in a home with someone who is understanding of their strong bond to each other and willing to give them plenty of ambient attention while they adjust. Does this dynamic duo sound like the perfect pair for you? Please contact FFSR and schedule an appointment to meet them!
Volunteers are the life blood of any non-profit organization, but are especially important to us and our birds for numerous reasons. If you're interested in In-Shelter Care of Birds, Education and Outreach at stores and events, or serving on a Special Events planning committee, please contact us today! We need you!
