Brutus

Brutus is a 24 year old assumed male Maximillian Pionus. He was hatched sometime in the spring of1999. Brutus' previous owner had to move and was unable to bring him or his flock member, Packer, with. Brutus and Packer are not bonded and will not be adopted out together.

Brutus is a bit cage territorial and will need an owner who is comfortable working with this behavior. He can bite very hard when he does not want to come out, and needs someone who is understanding of this. Once removed from his cage, he is very sweet and will frequently fluff up his head feathers to beg for more pets/scritches. To become fully hand tame, it will require constant and consistent training.

Brutus did live with dogs in his past home and was said to be very interested in them (in a positive manner) though we do not have any information as to what these interactions included/looked like. He lived with another bird, a Senegal parrot, but the two do not show much interest in one another. Brutus is a sweet, quiet guy who is looking for a home with high hopes but minimal expectations for him. He would love to go home soon - maybe with you?

Minimum bar spacing: 1/2" -3/4"

What I eat here: Goldenfeast Central American 1/4 cup daily, Harrison pellets mixed in.
