Reggie

Reggie is a 16 year-old Yellow-Naped Amazon. He arrived to the sanctuary this August with a sun conure, Izzy, who he is not bonded to. They will be adopted out separately.

In his previous home, Reggie was said to enjoy being handled and loved interacting (from a distance) with his bird roommate. His owner did note that it took a long time for Reggie to warm up to her, but once he did, he enjoyed cuddles and tummy tickles. She also noted that he loves to play catch with a wiffle ball or other similar sized ball. How fun!

Reggie is a very food-motivated Amazon, so if you want to come meet him, bring a yummy vegetable with as a treat! As a young Amazon, he is easily overstimulated, and would do best with a calm and patient bird owner. Large bird experience is strongly preferred, but not required.

Minimum cage required: 36" x 24" x 48"

Minimum bar spacing: 1/2" - 1"

What I eat here: Goldenfeast 1/3 cup daily, Harrison pellets mixed in.

My favorite treat(s): Jalapeños, bell peppers, broccoli, carrots
