The mission of Feathered Friends Sanctuary & Rescue is to provide shelter and care for parrots who can no longer be cared for by their previous owners or are otherwise in a situation that leaves them without a home.

If you are considering surrendering your bird, know that you have a right to expect your experiences and decisions to surrender will be kept strictly private and confidential and will be met without judgement. Any and all personal information will be held in the utmost confidence. If you are considering surrendering a bird please fill out the Surrender Form. Filled out forms can be emailed or mailed directly (see form).

SURRENDER FEES:

Please note that we are a non profit organizations that runs solely on donations and adoption fees. Surrender fees are not explicitly mandated, but we welcome one-time or continued donations for the continued care of your bird until he/she finds their forever home.

Due to limited space at the shelter we are sometimes forced to consider surrenders on a case-by-case basis, although we will do our best to do what's in the best interest of the bird. If you have questions please email or call us.

We currently are receiving a high volume of surrender forms for Cockatoos and Budgies. We are unable to take any of these birds in at this time. All surrender forms submitted for one of these species will be added to the waitlist. Once we have an opening, we will contact owners based off of level of urgency. Please know that since we open for intake once per 30 days, that it can be several months until we have space for these species. If you are looking to surrender one of these species, and it is an emergency, please contact us by email and we can assist in finding a sanctuary that is accepting these birds.
